The idea of “getting away from it all” has fueled vacationing for some time now. But getting away from it all should not include escaping yourself, or it becomes much more difficult to return home. A great getaway should become a catalyst for self-discovery, and this self-knowledge can be the best souvenir ever. The concept behind Big Sky Yoga Retreats is to offer you the best a getaway has to offer - stunning surroundings, amazing accommodations, gourmet food – while also offering the tools to enrich and improve your health and well being. After a retreat with us, you will not only feel like you got away from it all, but will also return home with a toolkit of healthy habits that you can apply to your everyday life.
The primary focus of our retreat is a daily yoga practice; our philosophy is that yoga helps you do anything better. It complements and improves every aspect of your life. Many of us approach our yoga practice as if it were another task on our to-do list; during the retreat we will work on techniques for how to integrate yoga into your life with less effort. On a typical day, there will be two daily yoga practices that take advantage of the natural rhythms of the body: a vigorous, energizing morning practice and a restorative, relaxing afternoon/evening practice. We'll also adjust our yoga practice to complement the outdoor activities we are enjoying under the Big Sky, depending on the season (exact schedule will vary depending on retreat).

We don’t want to simply put you through the motions of asana – we want to evolve and grow your practice to a new level beyond what you previously thought possible. Be prepared to challenge yourself and explore your limits.
Meditation will also be part of each day. We will explore ways to make a meditation practice more accessible, and cultivate the concept of moving meditation in our asana practices.
In order to maximize your potential for improving your health and well-being during our time together, we suggest that you limit your intake of caffeinated and alcoholic beverages.
After you register for a Big Sky Yoga Retreat, you will receive an orientation packet with required paperwork and recommended reading.
