Nominate a Cancer Kickin' Cowgirl

Program temporarily on hold due to COVID-19

Not Currently Taking Nominations

Our priority is keeping our cancer-kickin’ cowgirls safe and healthy. That’s why Cowgirls vs. Cancer is temporarily on hold due to COVID-19. Watch this space for future updates.

Because breast cancer isn’t something any woman should go through alone. In fact, it isn’t something any woman should go through — period. Our 501(c)3 Cowgirls vs. Cancer scholarship program provides women currently undergoing treatment (or in remission) a supportive, energizing, and inspiring weekend of yoga, horses, and community. If you know a courageous woman who should attend (or if you are such a woman), nominate her!

Nominating Someone is Easy

  1. Tell us about your nominee: What’s her story? What do horses and/or yoga mean to her? How does she exemplify the phrase “Yeehaw & Namaste?” (250 words or less)
  2. Attach a picture: Show us a photo of your nominee exhibiting her “inner cowgirl yogini” or striking a yoga pose. (JPEG format up to 600 x 600 pixels)
  3. Include contact info (you + nominee): Full name, address, phone number, email, and nominee shoe size.
  4. Get permission: Make sure you get permission from the nominee to submit her story.
  5. Submit your nomination: Send to between October 1 – November 15, 2019. (One nomination per person, please.)

What Happens Next?

We start sweating bullets, trying to narrow down our winners! When reviewing nominations, we consider if the story is clear, accurate, and inspiring, plus whether the nominee seems like she would be a good fit for our program. All entries will remain confidential until recipients are chosen. If chosen, we will publish her story on the Big Sky Yoga website and blog. So, giddy up and get writing!
