Mountain Pose in the Mountains

Yoga and Hiking is a 3-night women’s retreat in Montana’s staggering landscapes. Spend your days deepening your yoga practice and strengthening your body and mind to better explore the unique, exceptional beauty of Big Sky.

Our peak hike leads to Beehive Basin (chosen as one of 10 of the world’s greatest hikes by world-renowned backcountry tour guides Austin-Lehman Adventures), surrounded on three sides by the 10,000 foot Spanish Peaks. We’ll traverse alpine meadows coated in wildflowers, a tumbling creek, and towering spruce and subalpine fir, and peak at 9200 ft. to spectacular views – and frequent moose sightings! Our Advanced Hiking and Yoga Retreat includes a more challenging hike to Bear Basin, which is 12 miles round trip. To cap it all off, we highly recommend a self-guided quickie hike after the retreat ends on your way out to Ousel Falls, a powerful 35-foot waterfall that cascades off a moss-covered rock wall onto a granite shelf. We’ll even give you a trail map!

After splendid views, three square meals of gourmet delights, and all the down dogs and mountaintops you can handle, settle in for the evening with a dip in the hot tub, a glass of wine, great conversation, and a breathtaking canopy of stars overhead.

On this retreat, you’ll enjoy:

  • My daughter and I attended this retreat in August 2019. It was such an amazing mother-daughter adventure. We got to do a lot of hiking and sightseeing in such beautiful areas of Montana. The beginning and end of the day were met with yoga that complimented the beginner to the intermediate yogi. Margaret was an inspiration throughout the entire retreat and made sure everyone was included and felt comfortable in the group. If you need anything she makes it happen. Kate, the Chef, and her team were an absolute delight to mingle with around the kitchen island. Their culinary skills were healthy and very delicious! You will never go hungry around the house or on the hikes. Much love to this wonderful team of women!

  • Beautiful accommodations and some of the most informative and wonderful yoga I've ever done. Plus, butt-kicking hikes with gorgeous views. Every moment of the retreat was exactly what I was looking for!

    Lisa, New York

  • I love the beauty of Montana—the vast physical space between earth and sky that’s punctuated by powerful mountains. For all the drama of the landscape, its inhabitants are the most genuine and open-hearted I've had the pleasure of meeting.

    Jessica, Wisconsin

  • Many people will tell you that they feel most spiritual when they’re in nature. Others will tell you it's when they are in meditation or yoga. For me, it's all of the above—and was combined in a powerful weekend. Add to that great friends and gourmet food, and the weekend reached great heights.

    Christine, Montana

  • I’m still basking in the afterglow of my time in Montana and am so grateful for the time away and the new friends I made. This retreat provided the perfect opportunity to step away from the stress of everyday life and experience true rejuvenation and rest in the beautiful mountains of Montana.

  • This retreat celebrates, strengthens and nurtures the female spirit and deep relationships. I'm sure I would never have learned about such a thing, or identified the longing for it, without my experiences on Big Sky Yoga Retreats.

    Jessica, Wisconsin

  • I would recommend this trip to any woman looking to discover something new about herself. I stepped outside my comfort zone, let myself truly relax, challenged myself physically, and had an all-around amazing time.

    Lisa, New York

  • World class hiking in gorgeous Big Sky country, expert yoga instruction, fantastic food prepared by the endlessly talented Chef Kate—this is an amazing retreat. Margaret has created a space and experience that is fun, empowering, and nurturing. I feel so fortunate to be one of the dozen women—of diverse ages, places, and life experiences—who gathered to share it all.

    Lily, Washington

  • I met amazing women, discovered the joys of hiking, and enjoyed fun and restorative yoga in a breathtaking setting. I am truly inspired to incorporate more of these self-care practices into my daily life.
