Mountain Pose in the Mountains

Yoga and Hiking is a 3-night women’s retreat in Montana’s staggering landscapes. Spend your days deepening your yoga practice and strengthening your body and mind to better explore the unique, exceptional beauty of the heirloom B Bar Ranch.

Our first day of hiking will get you used to the altitude, as we enjoy wide vistas of the ranch and uphill climbs into the cooler forest above. We’ll have lunch on the trail, surrounded by sage, at one of best overlooks we know of. We’ll find our stride on our second day of hiking, exploring a petrified forest, and heading either towards the border with Yellowstone Park, or ascending Ramshorn Peak (depending on your hiking level). We’ll watch for mountain goats and bighorn sheep along the way! We’ll finish up the weekend’s hiking with a short morning stroll on Sunday.

After splendid views, three square meals of gourmet delights, and all the down dogs and mountaintops you can handle, settle in for the evening with a dip in the hot tub, a glass of wine, gathering at the fire pit, and a breathtaking canopy of stars overhead.

On this retreat, you’ll enjoy:

Cozy Cabins

Spend three nights in a B Bar Ranch A-frame cabin with your own private bedroom and shared bathroom.

Daily Yoga Classes

Build body and mind self-awareness and openness that prepare you for hiking (and life)—with a special focus on the back, hips, and core. We'll do some yoga on the trail, and there will also be plenty of post-hike restorative yoga too! All classes will be in the yoga yurt. If you've never done yoga in a yurt, this is your chance.

Gourmet Meals & Wines

Enjoy Western gourmet meals and fine wines from Yellowstone Cellars & Winery and local beers like Moose Drool (trust us!).

Meditation & Journaling

Set your intentions through a series of meditation and journaling exercises. We'll have a mala making workshop one evening, and take you through how to meditate using one.

Wildlife Watching

Take advantage of unparalleled wildlife watching opportunities — elk, birds, bears, and moose! Many animals found in Yellowstone Park also call B Bar home.

  • I love the beauty of Montana—the vast physical space between earth and sky that’s punctuated by powerful mountains. For all the drama of the landscape, its inhabitants are the most genuine and open-hearted I've had the pleasure of meeting.

    Jessica, Wisconsin

  • Many people will tell you that they feel most spiritual when they’re in nature. Others will tell you it's when they are in meditation or yoga. For me, it's all of the above—and was combined in a powerful weekend. Add to that great friends and gourmet food, and the weekend reached great heights.

    Christine, Montana

  • I’m still basking in the afterglow of my time in Montana and am so grateful for the time away and the new friends I made. This retreat provided the perfect opportunity to step away from the stress of everyday life and experience true rejuvenation and rest in the beautiful mountains of Montana.

    Amy, Illinois

  • This retreat celebrates, strengthens and nurtures the female spirit and deep relationships. I'm sure I would never have learned about such a thing, or identified the longing for it, without my experiences on Big Sky Yoga Retreats.

    Jessica, Wisconsin

  • I would recommend this trip to any woman looking to discover something new about herself. I stepped outside my comfort zone, let myself truly relax, challenged myself physically, and had an all-around amazing time.

    Lisa, New York

  • World class hiking in gorgeous Big Sky country, expert yoga instruction, fantastic food —this is an amazing retreat. Margaret has created a space and experience that is fun, empowering, and nurturing. I feel so fortunate to be one of the dozen women—of diverse ages, places, and life experiences—who gathered to share it all.

    Lily, Washington
