Tölt Your Way to Namaste

Equal parts activity and rejuvenation, our days will focus on the mind-body-horse connection, Nordic-style.

We’ll explore the mind-body-horse connection with daily yoga and meditation, round pen sessions, and tölting through Swedish forests. Learn about Icelandic horses and their unique gait and history – their ancient Viking origins lie in Scandinavia. And speaking of ancient origins – south Sweden is home to multiple megalithic monuments and tombs that we’ll visit – and take time to soak up energy of the ages.

And, don’t worry. There’s “down time” to recharge, journal, watch the Icelandic horses play, and hang out with our “celebrity” chef and host Thomas (who is always up to something fun).

This thoughtfully designed yoga and horses experience is limited to 8 women.

NOTE: This retreat is not for beginner riders; we recommend previous riding experience and riding lessons to prepare. Our daily rides will be on trails in the Swedish forests, at the walk, tölt and canter. English riding experience or experience with Icelandic horses is preferred.

On this retreat, you'll enjoy:

Cozy, Comfortable Lodging

Spend 7 nights at the private Icelandic horse farm Hallamölla Gård, in the Southern Swedish countryside.

Daily Yoga Classes

Explore the mind-body-horse connection in daily yoga classes, with a unique focus on yoga for equestriennes. Flow, restorative and yin will be offered, depending on the day and its activities. Outdoor yoga is weather dependent.

Horseback Riding

Our host Camilla will share her knowledge and love of Icelandic horses, assisted by her herd of 18. Tölting through the Swedish forest will give new meaning to the wellness concept of forest bathing. Daily rides will vary between morning and afternoons. You will get to catch, groom and saddle your horse each day.

Mindfulness Exercises

Learn how to be more mindful and appreciative of the adventure of travel through meditation, intention-setting & journaling. We may even get some equine lessons in mindfulness, from Hallamölla Gård's Icelandic herd.

Gourmet Meals & Wines

Enjoy gourmet meals with exquisite presentation by our private chef and host Thomas. We'll have a cooking lesson to celebrate the Swedish Midsummer holiday with traditional fare. This region, called Österlen, is a foodie destination known for its small-scale food artisans. We'll visit a local winery (with a tasting, of course!) and an asparagus farm, and savor a few meals in local restaurants.

Local sightseeing + Spa Day

We'll visit the Swedish Stonehenge Ales Stenar, and the King's Grave, the largest Bronze Age tomb in Northern Europe. We'll have the sweetest Swedish spa to ourselves for a morning of pampering. And we'll head to the Baltic Sea one morning for sunrise yoga - and to take in the energy of the Haväng dolmen next to our yoga spot.

Lots of Fun Extras

This travel + yoga + horses retreat is not only all-inclusive (with the exception of airfare, see FAQs for details), but it also includes thoughtful and thorough travel advice, pre-retreat connecting opportunities, and a carefully curated pre-retreat gift box.

  • Resfeber.
The relentless race of the traveler's heart before the journey begins, when anxiety and anticipation are tangled together.

    (noun), (Swedish)

  • Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.
