COWGIRL YOGA™ Argentina

Yoga and Horseback Riding Women's Retreat in Córdoba, Argentina

Bienvenidas Vaqueras

Adventure-loving cowgirl yoginis are welcomed with open arms (and a tip of our hats) to this 8-night retreat in the heart of Northern Argentina. We'll make our home base in Córdoba, Argentina, at a secluded traditional estancia that has been in the same family for four generations. Perfectly timed to combat winter woes with a healthy dose of yoga, horses, and a splash of spa, this once-in-a-lifetime retreat will quench your wellness wanderlust. We're thrilled to partner with Estancia Los Potreros for this epic adventure!

Ride Your Way to Namaste

Equal parts activity and rejuvenation, our days will focus on deepening your yoga practice, replenishing your mind and spirit, and nourishing your body with gourmet local fare. And you’ll need the nourishment because we’ll be exploring the estancia’s surrounding countryside twice a day, on horseback. Our horses are Criollos, a breed descended from various Spanish horses brought to South America by early explorers, and Pasos Peruanos, an elegant, powerful gaited breed that provides an incredibly smooth ride. All 100+ horses are predominantly bred and raised on the estancia.

And, don’t worry. There’s “down time” to recharge, journal, take a dip in the pool or a nap in a hammock.

This exclusive, luxury yoga and horses experience is limited to 8 women.

NOTE: This retreat is not for beginner riders; we recommend previous riding experience and riding lessons to prepare. Riders should be comfortable in the saddle (at all gaits) for 3-4 hours at a time, and riding through steep and varied terrain. You will be amazed at how much your seat improves after a week of riding like a gaucho!

On this retreat, you'll enjoy:

Luxe Lodging

Spend 8 nights at Estancia Los Potreros, a 6,500 acre working cattle and horse farm/ranch which has been in the same family for four generations, set in a secluded location.

Daily Yoga Classes

Explore the mind-body-horse connection in daily yoga classes, with a unique focus on yoga for equestriennes. Flow, restorative and yin will be offered, depending on the day and its activities. Outdoor yoga is weather dependent.

Horseback Riding

We'll be galloping with the gauchos twice a day, most days. (Si, that means you need to be comfortable at all gaits, intermediate to advanced level riders, por favor.) Morning rides will be after yoga and breakfast, evening rides after tea and often close to sunset. Take in the varied surrounding landscapes from horseback, with gauchos in the lead. You'll get to know both criollos and pasos peruanos, born and raised on the estancia. Fall in love with traditional Argentine tack, especially those comfy sheepskin saddle covers.
We'll get a chance to help work cattle, too.

Gourmet Meals & Wines

Enjoy gourmet fare prepared by our private chef and estancia hosts, including picnics, asados (traditional Argentine bbq), and daily afternoon tea. Most dietary needs will be accommodated. Sip and savor multiple Malbecs and other Argentine vinos.

Mindfulness Exercises

Learn how to be more mindful and appreciative of the adventure of travel through meditation, intention-setting & journaling.

Córdoba City + Spa Day

We'll take a riding break mid-week for a tour of the historical city of Córdoba, a shopping stop at our favorite Argentine tack shop Arandu, and an afternoon at the Hotel Azur Real spa.

Lots of Fun Extras

This adventure travel + yoga retreat is not only all-inclusive (with the exception of airfare, see FAQs for details), but it also includes thoughtful and thorough travel advice + planning for time in Buenos Aires, pre-retreat connecting opportunities, and a carefully curated pre-retreat gift box.

  • The experience of a lifetime for a horse-lover/wine-lover/foodie like myself. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with glasses of Champagne.
From that moment on, we experienced the highest level of hospitality and genuine kindness from every individual working at the Estancia, the most wonderful horses, magnificent and exhilarating rides. Nothing is more exhilarating than galloping across the Argentine countryside!

  • The quaint original farmhouse accommodations, the bucolic setting with grazing horses surrounding us, parakeets chirping in the trees, delicious meals, free-flowing wine, yoga on the grass, riding into the hills as the sun began to set, and daily surprises ~ which I won’t give
away! ~ were some of the incredible memories of this remarkable place.
The only guests at the Estancia during our time there, we were treated like family, eating meals with Kevin and the guides, chatting and laughing together; it was an unforgettable and magical time. !Inolvidable!

  • Everything about Estancia Los Potreros felt enchanting. Each morning, I awoke upon a soft bed to the sweet sounds of chirping birds and distant neighing horses. We spent our days riding through the rocky hills of the expansive property in the Sierras Chicas. Gauchos led the way, sometimes whistling melodies, as the guides pointed out beautiful and interesting features of the property and horses. I rode different horses and horse breeds throughout my stay, but most of all, I appreciated the frequent stints of galloping.

  • Los Pots further pampered us with delicious family-style meals and tea breaks “on top of the world.” Within such a short time, Estancia Los Potreros’ owner, Kevin, and the entire staff created the lasting impression of a family—the kind of family that greets you off a horse with a glass of fresh lemonade. It was a unique riding experience that I won't likely forget.

  • Estancia Los Potreros is an amazing authentic location in Argentina where I was lucky enough to visit - I had a very hard time leaving.
The beauty of the property and surrounding countryside paired with the friendliness of the staff made for an unforgettable retreat. The owner Kevin was fantastic, sharing his stories and passion for his land.

  • The horses and the daily riding were the highlight for me - I will always remember the exhilaration I felt cantering across the hillsides, and the sounds and smells surrounding me.
I highly recommend this getaway for anyone who is a horse lover, and appreciates wonderful cuisine, fantastic wine and a truly authentic Argentine experience.
