Carrie is the owner and founder of Equisol retreats and Playa Ponies Riding School and Horseback Riding Tours in Costa Rica. Carrie moved to Nosara in 2007, where she met her husband Eder Espinoza; they have two stunning daughters and a working farm with horses, dogs, cats, chickens and pet cows.

Carrie is a rider, coach, trainer, and Jane-of-all-trades when it comes to all horse-related business. Carrie has been riding and working with horses for over 30 years. She currently rides and shows in 3 day eventing; she is also head coach for the Playa Ponies riding school and competitive team. Carrie considers herself a forever student – she is passionate about learning everything about her trade, and has studied and attended trainings and clinics with top clinicians from around the world. She has several certifications, including FEI coaching and Centered Riding.

As a coach and trainer, Carrie believes it is of the utmost importance to build a strong foundation based on balance and biomechanics. She loves to help riders develop the skills they need to find harmony in the saddle, and believes that harmony is what allows deep connection and flow. No matter what your discipline, Carrie’s skillful observation and tailored teaching method can help any rider move to the next level and gain more confidence in the saddle.

Margaret and Carrie previously teamed up for 5 blissful Cowgirl Yoga retreats, and are reuniting for Luxe Cowgirl Yoga Costa Rica in December 2024, to offer the deepest dive into yoga and horses yet.
