October = Halloween and breast cancer awareness month. And you know what, breast cancer is really scary. So say BOO to breast cancer, and nominate a breast cancer survivor for our 2011 Cowgirls vs. Cancer scholarship.
Are you or someone you know a breast cancer survivor? Through Cowgirls vs. Cancer, we provide retreat scholarships to yoginis who have experienced the physical, emotional, and financial hardships of breast cancer. This year, our fundraising efforts allowed us to grant scholarships to Amy and Diane (who wrote about their experience for the Athleta Chi) to come to Montana for a summer Cowgirl Yoga retreat. This healing and rejuvenating retreat provided something positive to look forward to, and helped them regain an internal sense of peace and balance.
For 2011, we’ve raised the bar on our fundraising to award four CY scholarships – Yeehaw and Namaste! During October 2010, breast cancer awareness month, we’re accepting nominations for 2011 summer scholarship recipients. If you or someone you know is a good fit for our program, please complete the application no later than November 10, 2010. Scholarship recipients will be announced December 1, 2010.
