Getting to Bozeman, MT

Traveling to Montana is easier than you think — as long as you plan ahead. Bozeman is located in the southwest corner of Montana in the heart of the Gallatin Valley and near Yellowstone National Park.

You’ll fly into our beautiful, modern Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) and immediately feel like you’ve stepped into the Old West. Exposed wooden beams, friendly people, and a laid-back vibe greet you the moment you step off your plane. Airfare to Montana can be expensive, so we recommend purchasing your ticket early — not trying to find last-minute fares.

And, remember, don’t skimp on the size of your suitcase! Montana weather is notoriously unpredictable. Pack more layers than you think you’ll need. Pack for warmth and cold — no matter what month you’re coming for a retreat.

Trust us (and read our packing lists).

VISIT

Big Sky, Montana

Big Sky has gotten bougie since we held our first Yoga & Hiking retreat there in 2008. It’s hands down the “Biggest (and best) Skiing in America”. It’s a great stop-over on your way from Bozeman to the 9 Quarter Circle Ranch for our Dude Ranch Cowgirl Yoga retreat. (Our retreat is in September – read why Forbes says that Autumn is the Perfect Time to Visit Big Sky, Montana.)

Yellowstone National Park

Don’t leave Montana without exploring our breathtaking Yellowstone National Park (ok, most of it is in Wyoming, but we can still call it ours). These websites will help you plan:

Make Yourself at hOMe

If you plan to arrive early or hang out after our retreat, we have some recommendations for extending your stay.
Keep in mind you probably won’t get flights out in the evening (especially to the east coast). Flights typically have early morning or early afternoon departures out of Bozeman.

Extending Your Stay

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park (YNP) Day Trip: consider adding on a day trip to Yellowstone Park. We can provide maps for routes to take through the park and ideas for short hikes. If you have more time, we definitely recommend more then one day in YNP.

If you would like to use a guide, we recommend Chris from Yellowstone Guidelines, who we used on our Yoga & Yellowstone retreats.

Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel (Yellowstone)

If you’d like to stay in Yellowstone Park, Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel isn’t fancy, but it’s definitely a cool experience.

Chico Hot Springs (Chico)

A historic resort located in the heart of Paradise Valley, Chico Hot Springs is located just north of Yellowstone National Park and famous for its shabby chic decor.

Dreamcatcher Tipi Hotel (Yellowstone)

If you’re going to Yellowstone, the Dreamcatcher Tipi Hotel is a unique venue our past retreaters have adored.
