2026 Big Sky Yoga Retreats: Argentina, Montana & Portugal

The holiday season is upon us. While you gear up for merry making and all the busy-ness that ensues, why not make a commitment to yourself for next year – to go on a yoga retreat that focuses on your health and wellbeing. Personally, I love having a trip out there on the calendar that will encourage me to stay focused on healthy goals. So check your calendar, plan ahead, and #justbookit. I hope to see you in Argentina, Montana or Portugal in 2026.

Restore & Reboot Yoga Portugal – May 24-31, 2026

Yoga to match Portugal’s delightful, slower pace. No pushy power yoga here, just yin, restorative and slow flow. Your body and mind will breathe a sigh of relief as you “reboot” in the Portuguese countryside.

If you want: yoga in a beautiful, glass walled studio surrounded by trees. Tons of child’s poses. Hiking Lite: we’ll explore the countryside on foot, at a leisurely pace. No counting steps here. Delicious, healthy local food and vinho, plus a winery tour and tapas tasting. Plenty of free time for you to truly kick back and relax.

Special touches: BSYR cozy queen Caitlin is in charge of this one. Prepare to melt into your yoga mat with her delicious yin and restorative practices. We’ll have the opportunity for a relaxed ride through the vineyards, because we just can’t say no when there are horses nearby. A one hour massage, mala making, a day at the beach. Lots of relaxing extras will be worked into your week, without the busy-ness.

Fun facts: Our hosts at the chill Quinta Camarena have coined the term the “Not-So-Serious” yoga retreat, and we’re going with that. So don’t plan to take it too seriously. They also have a special focus on environmental sustainability.

Why you should #justbookit: we can’t imagine a better place than Southwest Portugal to bring back our popular Restore and Reboot retreat. We’ll be organizing some time in Lisbon before the retreat, with plenty of suggestions to make the most of a few days there. And don’t worry, while it’s a city, the pace is hardly frenetic.

Dude Ranch Cowgirl Yoga – September 13-18, 2026

Where it all started – the original Cowgirl Yoga in Montana. At an authentic Dude Ranch. A real Western, cowgirl experience under the Big Sky.

If you want: our signature combination of yoga + horses; to ride on some of Montana’s most scenic trails, up to twice daily; to truly up your riding skills and horsemanship game, morning yoga by a roaring fire.

Riding level: All levels welcome! You can sign up for beginner, intermediate or advanced rides each day. This retreat also emphasizes the horse-human connection and the connection between our time with horses and our time on the yoga mat, so it’s a lot more than riding – including equine coaching, meditation and mindfulness.

Fun facts: The 9 Quarter Circle Ranch raises Appaloosa horses, a breed chosen for stamina, sweet temperament, and suitability to mountain trekking. We do before bed restorative yoga on this one – come in your pj’s.

Why you should #justbookit: get up early to watch the wranglers bring in over 100 horses from their nightly turnout. Serious stargazing – no ambient light out here. Wildlife: this year we saw moose, foxes, deer, and heard coyotes yipping and elk bugling.

Cowgirl Yoga Argentina – November 7-14, 2026

We’re heading back to Argentina to ride with the gauchos under the Southern Cross! New for next year, we’re going in spring (South America has the reverse of our seasons). Experience authentic Argentina at a secluded traditional estancia that has been in the same family for four generations.

If you want: an adventure travel + yoga retreat in one of the most wildly stunning places on earth (like Montana but in Argentina!); to deepen your practice through daily yoga, and our week-long program combining horses and mindfulness. Plus Malbec. And empanadas. And possibly a polo lesson.

Riding level: while the gauchos can accommodate all levels of riders, we strongly recommend riding experience and/or lessons before the trip, so you can be as comfortable as possible in the varied terrain. You’ll fall in love with traditional Argentine tack, especially those comfy sheepskin saddle covers. We’ll get a chance to help work cattle, too.

Fun facts: You’ll get to know both criollos and pasos peruanos, born and raised on the estancia. Our retreat hOMe, Estancia Los Potreros (“Los Pots”) is a 6,500 acre cattle farm that has been part of the Begg family for over 100 years. Anglo-Argentinian owner Kevin is an entertaining and gracious host, who joins us for many meals and has some surprises up his sleeve too.

Special touches: we send you a JADE Travel mat to pack for your yoga adventure, along with Argentine-inspired pre-retreat goodies.

Why you should #justbookit: Because when else are you going to go to Argentina to ride horses and do yoga?? It’s a once-in-a-lifetime, bucket list retreat. We usually meet up in Buenos Aires before, to experience a taste of its epic dining scene, a little tango, and shopping at our favorite elegant tack shop, Arandu.
